Count your guests, then add a little
A 6″ round serves 8–10, an 8″ round serves 12–16, and a two-tier cake serves 30–40. If you are also serving other desserts, you can size down.
Party slices vs. wedding slices
Wedding slices are smaller and taller than birthday slices, so the same cake serves more guests at a wedding.
